Bangladesh can do well in overseas, believes Shakib

Bangladesh is having a golden time since 2015 Cricket World Cup. In ODIs, they beat Pakistan, India, South Africa and Zimbabwe at home soil. No doubt Bangladesh has improved a lot in ODI cricket.

The Tigers are also trying to improved in T20Is. Last year they beat Pakistan in Only T20I match. Then unfortunately they drew two series against Zimbabwe 1-1 (in 2015) and 2-2 (in 2016) but came back strongly in Asia Cup T20 2016. Losing the first match against India, the men in Red and Green beat UAE, Sri Lanka and Pakistan to qualify for the Finals. In Super 10 stage of World T20, Bangladesh fought well though they lost all four matches.

World’s best allrounder Shakib Al Hasan believes, not only in home, Bangladesh has to do well in overseas conditions. Shakib is in Kolkata to play Indian Premier League (IPL) for Kolkata Knight Riders. He said to a televsion channel, “Many of people may think that we will do well only at home. But we can do well in foreign as well, which is yet to prove. Think we tour South Africa, England, Australia or New Zealand. How we play there, this performance will count most.
When we will go there, our target will be to do well as we did at our home.” Shakib praised with Tamim Iqbal and Mustafizur Rahman’s performances in ICC World T20 2016 in India. He is seeing some positive signs. “To play good cricket in a pressure situation like World Cup match, is really great. They are getting chances because they are doing well, these are their achievements. I hope they will continue their good works.” Probably, Bangladesh has only tour this year, in India. Bangladesh will play a Test match against India in mid-2016. However, BCB is also interested to play ODI matches.
